Dr Ian Charles
Ian Charles graduated 1994 with first class honours at Sydney University graduating fifth in the year.
In 23 years of practising dentistry Dr Charles has done additional training in cosmetic and implant dentistry and all the latest best practice technologies.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of dental care.
After graduating Ian was selected to work at Westmead hospital’s university based dental clinic. Dr Charles was involved in teaching undergraduate (or future dentists) in restorative dentistry and oral surgery for many years.
Dr Charles has worked at Blacktown family dental since 1996 and has enjoyed long lasting relationships with his patients. Dr Charles is dedicated to careful, conservative, and long lasting dental care. He often considers the best treatment to be no treatment as the long term implications must be considered.
Outside dentistry Ian is busy raising 3 children, enjoys road cycling and overnight
Dr Kate Drakos
Kate Drakos completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree, graduating with Honours from Sydney University in 1989.
She worked for two years at Westmead hospital Dental Clinic after graduation and joined the team at Blacktown Family Dental in January 1992.
She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry regularly attends courses and conferences to keep up to date with current dental techniques and further her knowledge in the field.
She particularly values the close relationships she has developed with many families and patients over the past two decades whilst working at the surgery in Blacktown.
Her interests outside of dentistry include reading, keeping fit and participating in fun runs including completing a couple of half marathons and the City to Surf. She is also a keen West Tigers supporter!
Dr John Wilson
Dr John Wilson graduated from Sydney University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He spent five years as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Air Force and gained further experience practising in the United Kingdom for 8 years in a practice in Surrey. He returned to Australia in 1980 and practiced for 5 years in Macquarie Street, Sydney. In 1985 John joined the practice in Blacktown as a partner. He gained a graduate diploma in dentistry in 2000.
John practices all facets of general dentistry with a special interest in crown, bridge and implant restorative surgery. His interests outside of dentistry include bushwalking, trekking and sailing and visiting grandchildren in Hobart and Miami, Florida. John is committed to furthering his own education.
